DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The project is structured in 4 work packages (WPs) and 2 result areas. The first step is to define user requirements for the project (WP1). In 1st result area engineering and management solutions are developed and applied on behalf of requirements clarifications and definitions. The engineering solutions concern: integrated hardware/software requirements analysis and management solutions concerning configuration, variants, change impact and risk management (WP2); verification & validation and simulation & emulation (WP3).

The results of the work packages 2 and 3 are merged in the 2nd result area of Twins, which is WP4. The work package deals with the platform integration and validation. WP4 is not the closing chapter that is done after all the other WPs have finished. Instead, WP4 is the result of several iterations that are fed by the inputs of the other WPs. From six months after the project start onwards, the platform will be populated with available solutions, experiences (WP2-3) and use cases (WP1). The resulting platform will be input for successive steps/tasks in WP2-3, which will enable the validation to be conducted in WP4.

WP4 ensures the dissemination and exploitation of all the work in WP1-3 and is therefore located in both result areas.

Project management work is dedicated to a person, not to a separate work package. The following figure illustrates the relationships between the principal work packages.
